Richmond-based IRDI Systems will receive $55,000 to further develop B.C.’s clean energy vehicle (CEV) sector, create good jobs and support low-carbon innovation.

Eagle Graphite will receive $290,000 to further develop B.C.’s clean energy vehicle (CEV) sector, create good jobs and support low-carbon innovation.

The Zero-Emission Vehicles Act (ZEVA), passed on May 29, 2019, means all new light-duty cars and trucks sold in the province will be clean energy vehicles by 2040, delivering on a key commitment the government made in its CleanBC plan.

As part of government’s CleanBC plan, the CleanBC Building Innovation Fund will support the development of advanced building technology and innovative low-carbon solutions for the places where British Columbians work and live.

Under the CleanBC plan, the Province is supporting local government and First Nation investments in building projects that will lower energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and lead to more affordable community infrastructure.

New legislation will help reduce climate pollution by phasing out gas-powered light-duty vehicles and making zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) more available and affordable for British Columbians.

As part of keeping electricity rates affordable and making sure BC Hydro works for people, government is introducing legislative amendments to further implement recommendations from the first phase of the comprehensive BC Hydro review.

To support the development of clean-energy projects and businesses that reduce or avoid greenhouse gas emissions, benefit ratepayers and provide potential economic opportunities for Indigenous communities, government has asked the B.C. Utilities Commission (BCUC) to conduct an inquiry into the regulation of Indigenous utilities.
