Katrine Conroy, Minister Responsible for the Columbia River Treaty, has issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of State’s recent comments about the progress of negotiations toward a modernized treaty: 

The 14th round of negotiations toward a modernized Columbia River Treaty took place in Spokane, Wash., Oct. 4-5, 2022. Following those discussions, Canadian and American representatives joined Columbia Basin Indigenous Nations and U.S. Columbia Basin Tribes for an Ecosystem and Indigenous and Tribal Cultural Values workshop.  

Katrine Conroy, Minister Responsible for the Columbia River Treaty, has issued the following statement regarding the 13th round of negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty, which took place in Richmond on Aug. 10-11, 2022:

Canadian and United States representatives continue discussions toward a modernized Columbia River Treaty.

An agreement has been reached regarding historic mineral tenures in an area within the Silverdaisy watershed known as the Skagit River Donut Hole, surrounded by both Skagit Valley Park and E.C. Manning Park, and between Hope and Princeton.

Canada and the U.S. met for the 12th round of negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022.

On Dec. 9, 2021, Canada and the U.S. conducted the 11th round of negotiations on modernizing the Columbia River Treaty.

Katrine Conroy, Minister Responsible for the Columbia River Treaty, has released the following statement on the next round of treaty negotiations:

On Nov. 26, I was sworn in as B.C.’s new minister of forests, lands, natural resource operations and rural development. I was also honoured to return to my role as minister responsible for the Columbia Basin Trust, Columbia Power Corporation and last, but definitely not least, the Columbia River Treaty.

The ninth round of Columbia River Treaty negotiations took place on March 11 and 12, 2020, in Washington, D.C. Katrine Conroy, Minister Responsible for the Columbia River Treaty, issued the following statement:
