An expanded $2.5-million program that provides rebates for zero-emission specialty vehicles is available to help people and organizations lower fuel costs and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Amrik Virk, B.C. Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services and the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development announced a $40-million partnership to support the development of pre-commercial clean-energy projects and technologies.

The Government of British Columbia is taking action under the Climate Leadership Plan to provide regulatory support to encourage the use of clean electricity and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The Province is holding the 55th annual Mine Safety Awards banquet to honour mining operations for their work to ensure mining remains one of British Columbia’s safest heavy industries.

Officials with the governments of British Columbia and Alaska signed an agreement establishing a bilateral working group that will build on and enhance water quality monitoring, environmental assessments and permitting relating to trans-boundary mines and development in both jurisdictions.

The Province is providing $600,000 under the Clean Energy Vehicle (CEV) Program to encourage and accelerate the use of electric vehicles in British Columbia’s public and private fleets and reduce greenhouse gases.

A special decal to allow electric vehicles to travel in high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes in B.C. has already been issued to 1,000 electric vehicles owners in the province.

Just ahead of Earth Day, the Government of British Columbia is announcing $1.4 million from the Innovative Clean Energy (ICE) Fund for a suite of programs to help homeowners reduce energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions and to support training in the construction of high performance, energy efficient homes.
