Seventy per cent of B.C.'s caribou herds are in decline and identified as threatened

under the federal Species at Risk Act.

Environment Minister Terry Lake and Lake Babine Nation Deputy Chief Frank Alec signed an agreement, outlining how parks and conservancies are managed on the Nation's traditional territories.

Taking into account over 8,000 comments from a public consultation as well as recommendations from the bi-partisan Special Committee on Cosmetic Pesticides, the proposed amendments to the Integrated Pest Management Act will address public concern over the use of cosmetic pesticides on private landscaped areas.

March 22 is World Water Day, so it's a good time for all of us to think about conserving and protecting one of our most precious natural assets. World Water Day reminds us how valuable our water resources are and the responsibilities that come with being stewards of this resource.

The Province is inviting public comments on a new report that recommends short- and long-term actions to protect B.C.'s species at risk. Developed by an independent, 10-member task force, the report was released by Environment Minister Terry Lake.
