Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $248,431 to Nadleh Whut’en First Nation, Yekooche First Nation, Tl'azt'en Nation Education and the District of Fort St. James, MLA for Nechako Lakes John Rustad announced.

Animals needing a home in Prince George will benefit from a Crown land lease of 1.18 hectares beside Exhibition Park to the North Cariboo District Branch of the BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA).

Effective at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, Category 2 open fires will once again be permitted throughout the Prince George Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, due to cooler temperatures and recent rainfall.

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire burning about two kilometres northwest of Norman Lake and about 30 kilometres west of Prince George. As of 4:00 p.m., the fire covered 10 hectares.

Effective at noon on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Prince George Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

Effective at noon on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, Category 2 open fires will once again be permitted throughout the Prince George Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Effective at noon on June 15, 2016, Category 3 open fires will once again be allowed throughout the Prince George Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. However, Category 2 open burning is still prohibited throughout the Prince George Fire Centre.
