Bruce Ralston, Minister of Forests, has released the following statement to mark National Forest Week, Sept. 17-23, 2023:

New measures to sustain the Great Bear Rainforest as one of the world’s most treasured and diverse coastal temperate forest ecosystems have been introduced.

Public feedback is requested to help inform the next stage of the Quesnel Forest Landscape Plan (FLP), co-developed with First Nations, with input from communities, subject matter experts and forest licensees.

The fungus that causes white nose syndrome in bats has been detected in bat guano in the Grand Forks area.
