Off-road vehicle registration and safety provisions are mandatory on Crown land effective Nov. 1, 2015, following passage of regulations in support of the Off-Road Vehicle Act.

‘Namgis First Nation will see benefits from proposed treaty lands early, thanks to an innovative agreement that supports both reconciliation with ‘Namgis and forestry operations on northern Vancouver Island.

The BC Wildfire Service, in conjunction with BC Timber Sales and the Kaslo and District Community Forest Society, is planning to conduct two prescribed burns in the Kootenay Lake Fire Zone. Burning will take place between Oct. 8-10, 2015, weather conditions permitting.
