A lightning storm, which tracked through the Fraser Canyon and surrounding areas on July 14, 2014, ignited wildfires that continue to burn in the Fraser Canyon, Nahatlatch River and Mahatl Creek drainages.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, campfires will once again be permitted throughout the Northwest Fire Centre's jurisdiction.
