More than 40 senior forest sector representatives are heading to Asia from Dec. 5 to 14, 2018, to grow markets for B.C. wood products.

One of the areas hit hardest by this year’s wildfires has reached a milestone in its recovery as a result of close collaboration between the B.C. government and the Gitxsan First Nation.

Under the special circumstance provision of the BC Rural Dividend Program, Community Futures Boundary and the City of Grand Forks will receive $655,799 to enhance economic development in the area.

The District of Fort St. James will be able to plan for upgrades to the local Fort Forum Ice Arena and ensure the continuation of community recreational programs, thanks to a $23,950 grant from the Province.

People travelling on forest service roads and some resource roads in Haida Gwaii will be safer and better able to communicate as a result of upcoming changes that standardize two-way radio communications in the Haida Gwaii Natural Resource District.
