Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, have released the following joint statement on the approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent COVID-19 vaccine:

People in B.C. will benefit from better access to care with 54 new doctors having signed contracts as of Oct. 1, 2022, to provide full-service primary care in communities throughout the province.

People new to B.C. can apply for Medical Services Plan (MSP), Fair PharmaCare and Supplementary Benefits at the same time using the B.C. Application for Health and Drug Coverage.

Ukrainians arriving in B.C. with a Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) will benefit from a more affordable process for the federally mandated medical examination.

Ukrainians arriving in B.C. with a Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) can receive 100% coverage of eligible prescription costs for one year under PharmaCare’s Plan C.

More people living in Victoria and surrounding communities will have increased access to primary health-care services as a new urgent and primary care centre (UPCC) opened at the Gorge Road Hospital at 63 Gorge Rd. E. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.
