Seniors in 100 Mile House and throughout the province will benefit as 27 communities receive grants of up to $20,000 to help create programs or tools that address the needs of their older residents.

The B.C. government, in collaboration with the BC Healthy Communities Society, released a guide to help interested local governments and First Nations better plan for events involving alcohol, creating a safer, healthier setting for event-goers and the community.

Local governments can now apply to have their efforts in creating supportive environments for their community’s seniors recognized.
