Early data from the initial weeks of B.C.’s Surgical Renewal Commitment show significant progress has been made.

The  Province and Interior Health are helping to meet the needs of the growing seniors' population with the largest one-time increase in long-term care beds in the region in over 15 years.

Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.'s provincial health officer, have issued the following joint statement regarding updates on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) response in British Columbia:

A new state-of-the-art emergency department and intensive care unit at Richmond Hospital will bring more services and better care for people in this growing community. 

The Province is investing in a suite of initiatives to protect long-term care and seniors’ assisted-living residents from COVID-19, as facilities begin allowing visitors.

People living in Renfrew-Collingwood and surrounding neighbourhoods now have access to more primary care and health promotion services with the opening of the new RISE Community Health Centre.

People in Sooke now have better access to team-based primary care, with the opening of the newly expanded West Coast Family Medical Clinic.
