People will soon have access to hundreds more affordable homes in communities they love through a partnership between the Province and Metro Vancouver.

People living in Vernon will continue to have access to 26 affordable rental homes made possible through a recent purchase from the Rental Protection Fund.

Indigenous individuals, families and Elders living in Vernon now have access to 35 new affordable homes with the opening of Thunderbird Manor – Phase 2.

More affordable rental homes are on the way for people in B.C. as the Province launches a three-year pilot of the new Secondary Suite Incentive Program.  

Updates to the BC Building Code will benefit people in the building and housing sectors with the expanded use of mass timber in taller buildings, as well as schools, libraries and retail.

The Province is taking action to support renters and landlords who play by the rules by amending legislation to better protect people from bad-faith evictions, eliminate rent increases when a child is added to a household and resolve rental disputes faster.

Families, seniors and individuals in the Township of Langley now have access to 98 new affordable rental homes with the opening of Jennie Gaglardi Place.
