Taking action on the biggest challenges facing people in B.C. is driving government work into the fall, inside and outside of the legislature.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing has released the following statement in response to the Government of Canada announcing the removal of GST on new rental construction:

A new provincial funding commitment of $14.8 million is supporting the operations and growth of non-profit housing providers to bring more housing and services to people in B.C.

People will get a say in how future buildings are constructed in B.C., including cooling requirements and accessibility standards, as the Province launches a survey on proposed changes to the BC Building Code.

People will be able to move into new homes faster as the Province invests in digital permitting and the construction industry to make the process quicker and more collaborative.

More people living in strata buildings will soon be able to charge their electric vehicles (EVs) at home as the Province has introduced legislation to make it easier for strata corporations and owners to install charging stations.
