A new provincial funding commitment of $61 million will support local governments building capacity to meet new housing-density initiatives, including the implementation of anticipated changes to development approval processes, planning and zoning, such as small-scale multi-unit housing.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing has released the following statement in response to the Government of Canada announcing the removal of GST on new rental construction:

Families and seniors with low to moderate incomes have moved into 20 new affordable rental homes in Burnaby.

Residents of the Sperling Place Emergency Response Centre (ERC) will soon be moving into 43 units of new permanent supportive housing in the community.

BC Housing and local partners are acting on an independent review of the supportive housing and permanent shelter at 3030 Gordon Ave.

New affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes will soon be on the way as the Province is inviting non-profits, First Nations, municipalities and other organizations to submit proposals for the Building BC: Community Housing Fund (CHF).
