People experiencing or at risk of homelessness will soon have more housing options with the Province and the City of Kamloops partnering on a new temporary housing development.

The Province has appointed Larry Campbell to convene and co-ordinate partners in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) with the aim of improving the quality of life for all people who live and work in the neighbourhood. 

More local governments will receive support to help them break down barriers and create more efficient approvals processes that will help B.C. to deliver more homes quicker.

Construction has started on nearly 250 rental homes in the Township of Langley, helping more people find housing options close to work, school and community services.

Children and families throughout B.C. will keep building stronger futures through reading and everyday learning with continued support for literacy programs.

A new proposal in Surrey will bring almost 600 new homes and shelter spaces to the community through three new BC Housing-funded developments helping to support hundreds of people and families in need of affordable and supporting housing.

Seniors, including those with mobility challenges, are moving into 18 affordable, accessible homes close to services and amenities in Valemount, helping them stay connected to the community they know and love.

People experiencing homelessness will benefit from continued day-space drop-in services, as the Province extends funding to Watari Counselling and Support Services (Watari) and Aboriginal Front Door Society (AFDS).
