A provincial park off the shores of Vancouver Island has been renamed to provide a deeper connection to the history, land and culture of the Snuneymuxw people.

David Eby, Attorney General, and Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, have released the following statement in celebration of Bills 18 and 29 receiving royal assent:

The provincial government has introduced two bills that further uphold Indigenous human rights and advance reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.

First Nations peoples throughout British Columbia can join a conversation on new opportunities in the growing and diverse clean-energy sector to help ensure First Nations are involved and benefiting from B.C.’s low-carbon economy.

The Province has returned almost 100 hectares (247 acres) of Crown land called kwentan makw'ali to the shíshálh Nation.

Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement marking Indigenous Veterans Day:

Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) and the Province have renewed a shared commitment to strengthen their relationship and advance reconciliation with Métis people in B.C.

‘Na̲mg̲is First Nation and the Province have signed a letter of intent to negotiate a Forestry Reconciliation Agreement that, along with an updated Forestry Fund Agreement, will enhance governance capacity, develop a sustainable forestry program and improve the social, economic and cultural well-being of people in the community.

Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, and Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation Chief Moses Martin have signed the hisiikcumyin pathway agreement that will guide future reconciliation negotiations between B.C. and Tla-o-qui-aht on areas ranging from sustainable land stewardship to protection of cultural heritage.

On June 29, 2021, the B.C. Supreme Court issued a historic ruling in Blueberry River First Nations (Yahey) v. Province of British Columbia, determining the Treaty 8 rights of the Blueberry River First Nations have been breached by development authorized by the provincial government over many years.
