Newcomers arriving in British Columbia now have better access to labour-market services, trauma counselling and co-ordinated community connections through a one-time investment of $15 million to settlement-service organizations across the province.

Displaced Ukrainians arriving in B.C. with visas issued under the federal Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) will now have access to date-of-arrival Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage.

Ten B.C. communities severely affected by the November 2021 floods are receiving $53.6 million in provincial funding to support recovery work and get people back into their communities.

Displaced Ukrainians will have access to more vital community programs and supports as the Province expands the Service BC phone line to include United Way British Columbia’s bc211 service.

The Province has introduced legislative amendments that will give local governments new tools to act when elected officials are charged with or convicted of a criminal offence.

With thousands of displaced Ukrainians expected to relocate to British Columbia over the coming months, the Province is expanding services and supports to connect individuals and families to the help they need.
