The Province is now accepting applications from local governments, community groups and First Nations for nearly $160 million in infrastructure grants to help strengthen communities throughout British Columbia.

As announced June 19, 2020, the Province is maintaining the moratorium on rent increases and evictions for non-payment of rent. However, other notices to end tenancy may resume effectively immediately.

The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the 110-room Howard Johnson Hotel at 1176 Granville St. as part of a long-term plan to build a mix of affordable homes for people in Vancouver.

The Government of British Columbia is extending the temporary rental supplement (TRS) until the end of August 2020 to continue to support renters and landlords.

The Province is partnering with the Municipality of North Cowichan and the City of Duncan to build close to 100 new supportive homes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Cowichan Valley.

The Lax Kw’alaams Band and the Province have partnered to open eight new affordable rental homes for Indigenous Elders in the Village of Lax Kw’alaams.

The Government of B.C. and partners are opening or beginning construction on more than 540 new affordable rental homes for people in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser regions.

The Province is making changes to the Community Gaming Grants (CGG) program to make it easier for non-profit organizations to adapt and continue to provide vital services to British Columbians.

The Province is working in partnership to deliver 141 new affordable rental homes for people with a range of incomes in the Interior region.
