In response to an urgent need for more supportive housing in the community, BC Housing has identified a new location to develop a 62-unit housing project for Penticton residents who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

People in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside will have new opportunities for social inclusion and economic development, thanks to a new social enterprise.

People who are living in supportive housing in the Capital Regional District (CRD) will have opportunities to become healthier and learn new skills, following the purchase of Woodwyn Farms by the Province, through BC Housing, for use as a therapeutic-recovery community.

Seniors and people with disabilities in Smithers now have access to new affordable and accessible rental homes, as a result of a partnership between the Province, the Town of Smithers and the Dik Tiy Housing Society.

Youth fleeing abusive situations, and those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, will continue to have a safe place to turn to, as the Province provides operating funding for the North Shore Youth Safe House.

The Province is supporting local governments throughout B.C. to meet their community’s needs, and provide basic services.
