Seniors and families in Langford will benefit from new affordable homes and child care spaces as part of Phase 2 of the Oak Park redevelopment funded by the Province’s Building BC: Community Housing Fund.

The British Columbia government will invest $1.1 billion over the next 10 years to make B.C.’s social housing stock more energy efficient, less polluting and safer, while significantly reducing heating costs for residents.

Renters and landlords are getting more efficient service through the Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB), thanks to government investments and innovations making it easier to apply for dispute resolution online and shortening wait times for both hearings and information.

Low to moderate-income seniors and persons with disabilities in Kelowna now have access to a total of almost 200 new affordable rental homes. The governments of Canada, British Columbia, and the City of Kelowna are officially opening Apple Valley 2 and 3, the final phases in this comprehensive seniors’ complex operated by National Society of HOPE. 

Seniors, people with disabilities and people living with mental-health challenges will soon have access to new affordable rental homes, following the Spirit Square redevelopment.

Help is on the way for middle-income families in 42 communities as the Province moves forward with more than 4,900 new affordable mixed-income rental homes as part of the Building BC: Community Housing Fund.
