Over 3,000 participants took part in British Columbia’s international LNG conference this week – another promising sign the industry has a bright future in the years ahead.

To reduce the wildfire risk to communities, Premier Christy Clark announced a top-up of $10 million to the Strategic Wildfire Prevention Initiative and tasked the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations to look at other ways to reduce wildfire risk through on-the-ground operations.

The Small Communities Fund will accept applications for $90 million in support for infrastructure before the end of this year, Premier Christy Clark announced at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities annual convention.

As the Terry Fox Run takes place throughout British Columbia today, Premier Christy Clark has announced she will be participating in the Annual Terry Fox Run in Hong Kong during her upcoming trade mission.

The Union of BC Municipalities annual convention was held in Vancouver, B.C. September 21-25 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. More than 1,800 delegates attended the annual event that included workshops, clinics, resolution and debates, as well as speeches from the Premier, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.

Premier Christy Clark announced the appointment of Gordon Hogg, MLA for Surrey-White Rock, as Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Sport to the Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
