Lafarge Canada is receiving a $5-million investment to further develop its carbon utilization technology in cement production, which will reduce emissions and protect the air and environment.

More remote First Nations in British Columbia can move toward clean energy to power their homes, economies and daily lives with a provincial investment in the Community Energy Diesel Reduction (CEDR) program.

In a year marked by the escalating impacts of climate change, the Province took important steps to drive down carbon pollution and build a stronger, cleaner British Columbia for today and generations to come.

In partnership with the Government of Canada, the Province and BC Hydro are reducing rates and lowering the costs of connecting to the electricity grid to help industries, public transportation agencies and neighbourhood energy systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions and attract new clean tech industries to British Columbia.
