More than 1,700 Indigenous people in communities throughout British Columbia will be able to access education or skills training for in-demand jobs.

More support is coming for community-based, Indigenous, adult and family literacy programs that help British Columbians gain valuable skills in reading, writing, math and digital literacy.

Post-secondary students throughout B.C. continue to benefit from government’s focus on affordability with a new investment in graduate scholarships for students at public post-secondary institutions.

For the first time, students will be able to receive a new bachelor’s degree of Nsyilxcn language fluency offered by UBC Okanagan (UBCO), in partnership with the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) and the En’owkin Centre in Penticton.

Students at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) can now enjoy the benefits of a building upgrade that includes an improved exterior, technological upgrades and new amenities at the Abbotsford campus.

New local learning centres in remote northwestern B.C. communities are providing on-site supports and reliable online access to programs at all 25 of the province’s public post-secondary institutions.

Anne Kang, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training, has issued the following statement regarding post-secondary education in fall 2021:
