More newcomers to the province will be able to find rewarding, skilled jobs in their communities through several new and innovative programs offered through the Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC).

More people will now be able to train for jobs as automotive technicians, millwrights and welders on the Lower Mainland through a new Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) project funded by the Province.

More people will be able to train for jobs as certified community support workers to help people on the Lower Mainland through a Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) project funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

As many as 12 eligible participants will be able to train for jobs as fire-protection technicians in the Lower Mainland through a new $200,000 Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) project funded by the Province.

As many as 15 eligible participants will receive skills training to prepare them for jobs as medical laboratory assistants in the Lower Mainland through a new Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) project funded by the ministry.

As many as 30 eligible participants will receive training to prepare them for jobs as professional truck drivers in the Lower Mainland.

A new investment of $2 million will support the development and growth of British Columbia’s co-operative businesses, while expanding services for people who use them.

Up to 30 eligible British Columbians will get essential and occupational skills training to prepare them for jobs as dental assistants in the Lower Mainland.
