Premier Christy Clark has unveiled Accessibility 2024, a 10-year plan that responds to the voices of thousands of British Columbians who took part in a three-month long public consultation on making B.C. the most progressive place in Canada for people with disabilities.

As the B.C. government releases a report summarizing what was heard throughout a disability white paper consultation, it has taken an important first step with a commitment to create an accessibility secretariat.

The majority of the funding will help community dental clinics deliver dental care to vulnerable populations, including children, seniors, First Nations, people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness and people receiving income and disability assistance.

The first phase of B.C.'s disability white paper consultation, led by representatives of government, the disability and business communities, is now closed but the process is far from over.
