TELUS announced a new pilot program that will offer low-cost Internet service to low-income single-parent families across the province on income or disability assistance.

To recognize British Columbia’s third-annual RDSP Awareness Month, and to celebrate that B.C. is leading the way for RDSP education and uptake across the country, Canada and B.C. joined forces to challenge all ministers responsible for persons with disabilities across Canada to take actions to increase Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) uptake in their provinces or territories.

A new Job Creation Project with the Rick Hansen Foundation will increase accessibility in British Columbia communities and provide work experience for up to 14 people with disabilities.

Following on a strong annual tradition, the Province is commemorating October as Community Living Month, a time to recognize and celebrate community inclusion and the significant contributions people living with developmental disabilities make to British Columbia communities year round.

Thanks to the launch of a new motorcycle permit for people with disabilities, created by SPARC BC and supported by the provincial government, more people will be able to make use of designated parking spots, which will allow them to have access to parks, recreational facilities and services in their communities.
