More than 1,300 single parents on income and disability assistance are participating in the provincial government’s Single Parent Employment Initiative launched on Sept. 1.

The Single Parent Employment Initiative will remove barriers to employment for single parents on income and disability assistance by providing them with the supports they need to secure long-term and sustainable employment.

Amendments to the employment and assistance and the employment and assistance for persons with disabilities regulations pave the way for significant changes to the income and disability assistance program in British Columbia.

VANCOUVER - Local job seekers, residents, communities, tourists and the local economy will benefit from more than $31,000 in Provincial Job Creation Partnership (JCP) funding to plan local arts, cultural and music festivals.
