Future heavy industrial manufacturing workers will soon be hard at work in the classroom and on the jobsite, thanks to a new employment training program at Chilliwack`s Mussell Crane Manufacturing.

The Province is helping low-income adults and children access urgent dental care with a $120,000 one-time grant to support dental programs throughout B.C.

A shortage of administrative workers in the New Westminster, Newton and Cloverdale areas has led to a government-funded partnership with the AWARE Society, worth nearly $368,000.

The B.C. government is making the transition to employment easier for families with children who receive income assistance by doubling their monthly income exemption from $200 to $400 a month and increasing it from $300 to $500 a month for families who have a child with a disability.

The voice, cultural lectures and experiences of Secwepemc elder Mary Thomas will be preserved for future generations, while one person will get valuable work experience in digital archiving, thanks to a funding partnership between the Government of B.C. and the Voice of the Shuswap Broadcast Society (VSBS).

As tourism continues to heat up and the North continues to ramp up job opportunities, the B.C. government is again partnering with the Canadian Vocational Training Centre to train up to 10 people in the hospitality industry.

The Government of B.C. will make child-support payments fully exempt for families receiving income and disability assistance, which translates to an additional $32 million over the next three years for these families.
