Thousands of B.C.’s best young athletes, along with coaches and officials will gather in the City of Abbotsford for three days of intense competition at the 2016 BC Summer Games.

The Province of British Columbia is proud to contribute to the hosting of the Surrey 2016 WBSC XV Women’s World Softball Championship by providing a grant of $135,000 through the major sport event hosting program.

 British Columbia artists and arts organizations have until Aug. 1, 2016, to apply for professional development or touring funding offered by the British Columbia Arts Council.

A record-high 14 nations from around the globe will compete at the 2016 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Under-19 Men’s World Lacrosse Championship in Coquitlam, including the seven-time defending champions from the United States and six-time runner-up and host nation, Team Canada.

Thanks to funding from the BC Arts Council, the BC Touring Council is investing $170,000 in 26 arts groups through the Community Presenter Youth Engagement (CPYE) program.
