The Province is providing $9 million to the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority to plan and install infrastructure at Ogden Point, allowing cruise ships to access clean hydroelectricity at the port, turn off their engines and help protect the environment.

Rob Fleming, B.C. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, tabled Bill 23, which proposes changes to the act, in the legislature on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

Seventy-four local and First-Nations-led projects to help plan and build safe, inclusive active transportation connections are moving forward in communities around the province.

More than 6,000 students in the Capital Region, Kelowna area, West Kootenays, and the South Coast will learn cycling skills and safety over the coming weeks as the fourth season of Everyone Rides Grades 4-5 begins.

British Columbia’s provincewide electric vehicle (EV) charging network will get four new sites in the coming months.

The Province is providing more than $404,000 to help local governments include active transportation in their community planning.

The Province is committing $36 million to active transportation infrastructure projects over the next three years, helping to create more liveable and sustainable communities throughout British Columbia.
