A new Automated Avalanche Detection System at Ningunsaw Pass is ready for avalanche season, improving the reliability of Highway 37 between Terrace and Dease Lake, and providing peace of mind for people travelling the area.

Following consultation with local residents, tourism operators and local businesses, the daytime closure schedule will remain in place for the Highway 4 – Kennedy Hill Improvement Project.

Safer, more skilled commercial drivers will be travelling B.C. roads with the implementation of mandatory entry-level training (MELT) for new Class 1 commercial driver’s licence applicants.

Students in grades 4 and 5 will learn biking skills and safety awareness at participating schools in Greater Victoria and along the South Coast as the fall session of Everyone Rides Grades 4-5 gets underway.
