Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is now available to eligible British Columbians in areas of the province that were impacted by severe weather and flooding that occurred from Nov. 3-14, 2016.

The final portion of diking designed to provide flood protection for Duncan and the Koksilah industrial and business complex area is now complete thanks to $4.133 million in funding from the federal and provincial governments and the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD).

Rolla Road (known locally as Snake Pit Road) has now re-opened with the completion of a temporary bridge replacement over the road.

The Government of British Columbia is providing $2.5 million to the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) to undertake debris removal and preventative work, designed to reduce flood risk in the region.

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $80,000 in funding toward a flood mitigation assessment project in the Strathcona Regional District.

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $15.52 million in funding toward two flood mitigation projects in the City of Surrey that will protect thousands of homes, landmark institutions, and business and industries employing thousands of people. 

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $33,000 toward an assessment of the flood risk around Mara Lake shores.

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $7.65-million in funding towards upgrading the Coquitlam dike and protecting homes and land at risk of flooding from high water levels in the Pitt River.
