Highway 99 remains closed at Duffey Lake Road just north of Pemberton on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, as the Ministry of Transportation and Transit staff and contractors work to clear avalanche debris from the road.

The Province has selected three qualified teams to participate in the request for proposals (RFP) stage to design and construct the Highway 1 Jumping Creek to MacDonald Snowshed project.

Drivers are advised that Highway 5 (Coquihalla Highway) will remain closed until at least Saturday afternoon between Hope and Merritt due to extreme weather conditions.

Snow and freezing rain forecast for today until Tuesday means poor driving conditions on highways in the southern Interior.  Drivers are urged to avoid non-essential travel.

Heavy snowfall mixed with freezing rain is expected to create hazardous road conditions on Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton and Princeton to Hedley, beginning this evening and persisting until Monday.

Environment Canada is forecasting snow and the risk of freezing rain beginning Friday and into Sunday for most of B.C.’s southern Interior.

Drivers are advised that heavy snow, freezing rain and high winds overnight are expected to create poor driving conditions in many parts of the Fraser Valley and throughout coastal B.C.
