British Columbia students will get a bit of help to give them an opportunity to connect with skills, technical and trades training opportunities, thanks to $170,000 in Skills Training Access Grants that are going to school districts across B.C.

Families in 21 more communities will soon benefit from convenient one-stop access to supports and services that will help their children learn, grow and thrive.

The B.C. government is providing $40,000 to allow the emergency weather response shelter at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church in Sechelt to remain open seven days a week.

The B.C. government will provide approximately $1.6 million this winter to make additional shelter spaces available in about 100 communities to help those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with access to a safe, warm place to stay at night.

The Government of B.C. will study the costs and benefits of a possible highway link between the Sunshine Coast and Metro Vancouver.
