People at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Fort St. John have access to 42 new homes with supports now that the Northern Centre of Hope West building is open.

Families, seniors and individuals in Merritt are moving into affordable new rental homes as the doors open on a 75-unit apartment project.

Construction has started on 50 new safe, secure homes for women and children fleeing violence on the Westshore, which is the result of a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Victoria Women’s Transition House Society (VWTHS).

Forty-three new affordable rental homes are now open in Keremeos for families, seniors and people living with disabilities.

Murray Rankin, Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Housing, has issued the following statement in recognition of Homelessness Action Week, Oct. 9-15, 2022:

People experiencing homelessness in Kelowna now have access to 60 new year-round shelter beds.

More than 40 new affordable rental homes are open in Oliver for families, seniors, Indigenous people and individual living with disabilities.

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Kamloops now have access to additional housing and supports, with the opening of 28 new supportive homes at the former Fortune Motel.

The Province, together with BC Housing, the Town of Princeton, and the Princeton and District Community Services Society, has started work on 20 new temporary homes for seniors who lost their homes to flooding in 2021.
