The B.C. government will provide more than $50 million to help the 14,000 restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, gyms and fitness centres affected by the March 30, 2021, provincial health orders. 

The Province is providing funding for 12 mass timber demonstration and research projects and has established a new advisory council to accelerate the adoption of mass timber building systems, as part of the Province’s economic recovery.

The B.C. government is providing an additional $1.87 million to assist more businesses that hold eligible tenures for fishing and hunting lodges, guest ranches, ecotourism lodges, seasonal campgrounds and other commercial recreation operators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty inter-city bus operators and 55 regional airports are approved to receive funding to help them stay open and provide essential transportation services to British Columbians.

In the Vancouver Island and Vancouver, Coast & Mountains regions, 14 communities with local economies that depend heavily on visitors have received $9.2 million to support tourism infrastructure development.

In the Thompson Okanagan region, six communities with local economies that depend heavily on visitors have received almost $2.8 million to support tourism infrastructure development.
