Premier Christy Clark introduced the team providing government with expert advice and recommendations as British Columbia begins developing a new climate action plan that will build on its climate successes.

As part of B.C. on the Move, the Province's new 10-year transportation plan, improvements will be made to reduce congestion and improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists on Highway 1 in Langford.

On the eve of National Emergency Preparedness Week (May 3-9), and following the recent devastation in Nepal, the Province is demonstrating the impacts a major earthquake could have here at home.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia announced a funding commitment to improve safety along five kilometres of Highway 3 west of Princeton. The project involves relocating and straightening the highway to remove sharp curves, and adding a passing lane in each direction.

The Okanagan's trail network will expand with a new recreational corridor between Kelowna and Coldstream, after the Government of B.C. pledged $7.2 million toward the acquisition of a discontinued CN rail line, Premier Christy Clark announced.

The Province is expanding its fight against invasive mussels with a $1.3-million boost toward early detection and rapid response.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is planning to conduct three prescribed burns in the Lillooet Fire Zone.
