Effective at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, all open fires are prohibited throughout the Northwest Fire Centre, with the exception of the former North Coast Forest District, the Cassiar Fire Zone and the portion of the Skeena Fire Zone north of the Meziadin Junction.

Effective at noon PDT on Monday, Sept. 17, all open fires and fireworks will be prohibited throughout all of the Peace Regional District of the Prince George Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the public. The ban will remain in place until Oct. 31, 2012, or until the public is otherwise notified.

Effective at noon on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, the existing Category 2 open fire and fireworks prohibition in the Coastal Fire Centre is being extended. It will now remain in place until Oct. 15, 2012 or until the prohibition order is rescinded.

The B.C. government is making significant investments in the Clearwater area to improve safety on Highway 5, and increase awareness and access to Wells Gray Provincial Park.

Effective at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, all open fires will be permitted throughout the Prince George Fire Centre's jurisdiction, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Effective at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 24, the current campfire ban in the Kamloops Fire Centre will be rescinded in the Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Merritt and Lillooet fire zones.

Effective at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 17, all campfires are banned in all areas of the Kamloops Fire Centre except the Clearwater Fire Zone.

The Northwest Fire Centre would like to remind the public that all open fires are prohibited within the Northwest Fire Centre, with the exception of the former North Coast Forest District.
