People who live and work in northern B.C. will benefit from a provincial investment of $25 million that will improve and expand operations at the Port of Prince Rupert.

The Fall 2020 Economic and Fiscal Update confirms the forecasted provincial deficit at $13.6 billion, which includes an additional $2 billion for new COVID-19 supports for British Columbians through B.C.’s Recovery Benefit and Recovery Supplement.

People throughout B.C. will continue to have access to safe, reliable and affordable public transportation as the province restarts.

Construction crews will start work next week to repave two sections of the Nisga’a Highway (Highway 113), making the drive safer and smoother for people travelling along these stretches.

Beginning this fall, median barriers will be installed on sections of Highway 97 between Penticton and Summerland and Highway 97A between Armstrong and Vernon, improving safety for area residents, commercial truck drivers and tourists.

People in the West Shore will soon have safer driving conditions as upgrades to Highway 1 from Leigh Road to the West Shore Parkway are 50% complete.

The COVID-19 pandemic will mark British Columbians' lifetimes in ways never thought possible, and the Province is investing in people, businesses and communities to see them through the pandemic and build back better.

Work will get underway this summer on upgrades to Otter Point Road and Highway 14 through Sooke to make these roads safer for people walking and cycling in the area.
