Taking action to tackle some of the biggest challenges people in B.C. are facing was at the centre of several new pieces of legislation passed during the fall session, including the most significant housing legislation in B.C. history to deliver more homes for people faster.

Sixty temporary homes will soon be available for people experiencing homelessness in Kelowna as construction gets underway on the second project created through an agreement between the Province and the city.

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria are moving into 46 new homes with around-the-clock supports with the opening of The Juniper.

Public service employees who go above and beyond in their work to make life better for people in B.C. were recognized at the Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023.

More than 20 new safe and secure second-stage homes are open in Port Alberni for women and their children leaving violence.

Women and children leaving violence in West Kelowna now have access to 55 new safe places, with a partnership between the Province through BC Housing and Kelowna Women’s Shelter.
