The Province has released its action plan in response to the government-commissioned, independent Abbott/Chapman report on the unprecedented 2017 wildfire and flood seasons in British Columbia.

Negotiators representing the governments of Canada, including British Columbia, and the United States met in Nelson on Aug. 15-16, 2018, to continue discussions about the future of the Columbia River Treaty.

Communities throughout British Columbia are receiving approximately $9.5 million in provincial emergency preparedness funding for structural flood mitigation, such as pump stations and dikes.

Emergency Management BC (EMBC) and the Justice Institute of British Columbia are working with First Nations communities to develop relevant and effective emergency management training, based on the unique needs of First Nations.
