Josie Osborne, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, and George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, have released the following statement in response to the Government of Canada’s carbon tax announcement:

A high-tech revolution is dramatically changing how British Columbia moves people and goods in the air, on the land and over the water, supported by government funding for companies that specialize in inventing and advancing zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) technologies. 

More remote First Nations in British Columbia can move toward clean energy to power their homes, economies and daily lives with a provincial investment in the Community Energy Diesel Reduction (CEDR) program.

Preventing plastic waste, reducing emissions and creating clean-tech jobs are just a few benefits of the 14 new projects under the CleanBC Plastics Action Fund, as well as a boost of more than double the previous funding for further projects.

As British Columbians are embracing zero-emission vehicles faster than any other jurisdiction in Canada, the Province is helping them go electric with $26 million in new funding for public charging stations.
