The Cheakamus Community Forest near Whistler and the Province of British Columbia have signed an Atmospheric Benefits Sharing Agreement that enables the creation and sale of carbon offsets generated through improved forest management.

The signing of a Forest Consultation and Revenue Sharing Agreement (FCRSA) with the Seabird Island Band means B.C. has now signed 150 FCRSA agreements.

The Province is enhancing economic opportunities and forest stewardship in the south Cariboo by signing a community forest agreement with the Village of Clinton.

The Province has signed a community forest agreement with the City of Williams Lake and the Williams Lake Indian Band, enhancing economic opportunities and forest stewardship in the Central Cariboo, Forests.

Comments are being accepted until Feb. 3, 2014, on a public discussion paper released today as part of a comprehensive timber supply review for the Robson Valley timber supply area (TSA).

The Province is increasing the area covered by the Creston community forest agreement.

The Province is significantly increasing the area covered by the Babine Lake community forest agreement.
