Harry Bains, Minister of Labour, has issued the following statement in regard to the Fraser Valley transit labour dispute: 

Highway 4 remains closed at Cameron Lake Bluff due to wildfire affecting the area.

Traffic signals are coming to the Highway 3A and Baker Street intersection, improving safety and mobility for people travelling into and around Nelson’s city centre.

People in communities throughout B.C. will benefit from additional investments toward safer roads through a second year of Vision Zero grants.

Drivers are advised that Highway 99 at the Steveston Interchange will be closed overnight Sunday, May 28, 2023, to allow crews to safely move heavy machinery across the highway for the new five-lane Steveston Interchange project.  

This Victoria Day long weekend, travellers along the Malahat (Highway 1) are encouraged to avoid peak travel times for a safer and more relaxed journey.
