People travelling along Highway 17 near Keating Cross Road on south Vancouver Island are encouraged to plan ahead for high traffic volumes as school resumes on Sept. 5, 2023. 

Highway 1 between Boston Bar and Lytton has reopened for travellers following a closure due to the Kookipi Creek wildfire.

Highway 4 is on track to fully reopen to two-lane travel at Cameron Lake Bluffs before the Labour Day long weekend, after a successful day of rock scaling allowed crews to move toward stabilizing the bluffs.

Work is underway to restore access on Highway 1 through the southern Interior, after wildfire activity forced closures of sections of the highway.
