Yesterday, Rentals.ca released a report indicating that rental asking prices in British Columbia are down 8.5% over the past two years, and 5.5% in the past year alone. Vancouver led with largest drop in the country at 16.9% in the past two years and 8.2% in the past year. Vancouver is at a 41-month low and one bedrooms are down $500 a month since 2023. Men living with substance-use challenges now have access to more treatment and recovery options with the opening of new treatment beds on the Sunshine Coast.

Osoyoos Indian Band members and Osoyoos residents will have access to 43 new affordable rental homes with the opening of mxitp Cedar Lane Apartments.

Data taken from the latest provincewide homeless counts indicates that homelessness continues to affect people throughout British Columbia, including youth, families, seniors and individuals from all backgrounds. 

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness will soon have more housing options with the Province and the City of Kamloops partnering on a new temporary housing development.

Three years after their initial appointment, the Province has reappointed 10 members to the anti-racism data committee.

The Province has appointed Larry Campbell to convene and co-ordinate partners in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) with the aim of improving the quality of life for all people who live and work in the neighbourhood.
