Effective at noon Pacific Time on Friday, July 3, 2015, campfires will be prohibited throughout the Southeast Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

Two campgrounds managed by the Xeni Gwet'in First Nations Government will see a fee increase this summer, reflecting fees of other similarly-serviced BC Parks campgrounds.

Effective at noon on Saturday, June 27, 2015 within the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, campfires will only be allowed on northern Vancouver Island, the mid-coast portion of the mainland and on Haida Gwaii.

Effective at noon Pacific Time on Wednesday, June 24, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited in the Southeast Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

Effective at noon on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, Category 2 and Category 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, with the exception of the “Fog Zone”.

Effective at noon on Thursday, June 4, 2015, Category 2 open fires will once again be permitted in the Southeast Fire Centre due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Effective at noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited in the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

The Inklin River wildfire, located about 90 kilometres southeast of Atlin, is now estimated to have burned 250 hectares.
