Effective at noon on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, open fires will once again be allowed throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre's jurisdiction, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Current weather conditions make it safer for private landowners, Wildfire Management Branch personnel and industry partners to reduce wildfire risks by burning piles of wood debris.

Effective at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 15, open fires will once again be permitted in all fire zones within the Kamloops Fire Centre, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.

Effective at noon on Oct. 7, 2014, Category 3 open fires will once again be allowed in the Cariboo Fire Centre east of the Fraser River. However, Category 2 and Category 3 open fires remain prohibited west of the Fraser River.

Effective at noon (PDT) on Sept. 30, 2014, Category 2 open fires will be allowed in the Cariboo Fire Centre east of the Fraser River but will remain banned in areas west of the Fraser River.

Effective at noon (PDT) on Oct. 1, 2014, open fires will be permitted in the entire Salmon Arm Fire Zone within the Kamloops Fire Centre, due to a decreased risk of wildfires.
