In order to protect public safety and assist firefighting operations, two of the roads that make up the Alice Lake Loop have been temporarily closed to the public.

In the interest of public safety, the BC Wildfire Service is temporarily closing a portion of the Beaverfoot Forest Service Road near the Whitetail Creek wildfire, which is burning just outside Kootenay National Park and about 40 kilometres north of Radium Hot Springs.

Several fires are burning throughout the Southeast Fire Centre as a result of the recent and ongoing lightning activity in the region.
